Whatever happens between the first guest arriving and the last one leaving is the record, and if the microphone fails during the speeches or the vows, that moment is simply gone. Most of these days are also assembled from separate suppliers who meet for the first time on the morning. We cover the media and technical side as one job — which mostly means one number to call, and the person filming can hear what the person on sound is doing.

What the family keeps
This is the footage that gets watched in twenty years — at an anniversary, or after someone is gone. That's the actual deliverable, and it's why we don't treat a single-camera funeral with less care than a wedding. You cannot go back and re-record it.
